INTERIOR COLLAB x JD STARON 

LICENSING ANNOUNCEMENT AND KEY DATES

Members, 

We are thrilled to announce the details of our licensing deal with JD Staron. JD Staron and Interior Collab will launch two annual collections, four to six designs each designed by IC Designers. 

During our September 20th in-person meeting, JD Staron and IC officially launched the first ever design competition. Jakub, the founder of JD Staron, had the floor for about 30 minutes to share with us a quick guide about the art of rug making, design and process. We believe the knowledge shared during this mini-workshop will help immensely during the design phase of your submission. 

Our partners at JD Staron are all wonderful humans and willing to share, discuss and educate us throughout the entire process. We have also put together an extensive FAQ here. Please read through all of it before reaching out to bizdev@interiorcollab.com with any questions.

Please note the following key dates:

08/23 Official announcement to all our members + FAQ

09/20 In-person meeting at JD Staron’s showroom to announce collection theme 

09/23 Meeting recap - competition entry form available

09/23-10/23 JD Staron support (if any designer need help with colors, details..etc)

10/23 Application via email to all participating designers (please refer to FAQ for list of deliverables)

10/30 Application + Submission deadline - Submit Completed Template(s) to bizdev@interiorcollab.com. Template can be found Here

11/23 JD Staron to announce selections and schedule work session meetings (in person or virtual) to develop the concepts, colors and make any design tweaks to prepare for production. The type of final product determines production timeline - TBD

Due to the nature of the product we’re designing with JD Staron, please note that the below has a more fluid timeline based on the technical aspects of the production (location, materials, construction type..). Designers of Selected designs for upcoming Capsule will be contacted directly by JD Staron to work closely together on next steps:

- Work one-on-one with designers of selected submissions to wrap up design phase and go into mock up production - 2 Sessions / 4 weeks

-  Producing samples + Mock ups - 6 Weeks

-  Review samples + Mock ups w/ Designers - TBD

-  Production times - TBD

-  Announce collection launch date (and location) with IC - TBD

JD Staron and IC will work together on the marketing efforts and campaign to promote said collections in keeping with branding identities.

The selected designs will be advertised as The Interior Collab Collection by JD Staron x “Designer Name” .The Designer’s name will be mentioned in all promotional press and marketing.
