Eyes on Summer
by Zoe Newman
What our IC Designers are looking forward to this summer.
Where does your mind wander to when you take a few minutes away from the grind of daily life and work? We asked a few of our designers to share how they plan to spend their downtime recharging and cultivating inspiration this summer. As summer comes to a close and you want to savor the last lazy weekends, take some inspiration from our designers below.

I am excited to pop into all the little shops I have come to adore in my new area of Westchester NY. A few that I really love are @porchhome, @thevelvetmaple, @theswanshouse, @hudsonlineshop, and @shopberte. I discovered some of these spots via @whats_in_westchester_ny. Jessie has been a great resource as I orient myself to my new surroundings. I’m loving spending my time discovering all these amazing little towns I am surrounded by and perusing the local and unique shops
Julia Blanchard, Blanchard Design LLC.
I’m looking forward to taking mini trips this summer. Especially staying at spots like the Rockaway Hotel.

Last summer I did a Five-day vedic meditation retreat in Sedona, AZ with my meditation teacher @thethomknoles. By day 3 of the retreat I was doing a combination of Asanas, Pranayama and Meditation for seven hours straight and was on cloud nine. It was just the break I needed to recharge, rebalance, and get some life perspective before heading back to NYC and a bunch of exciting projects we're working on. It was great to experience this type of cosmic building for the first time after studying it for an entire year.

I am looking forward to spending more time outdoors. Two of my favorite spots are the beaches at the New Jersey Shore and hiking along the Palisades Interstate.

This summer I'm staying pretty busy with projects both ongoing and new! Since I'll still be spending a good deal of time at home, I am always looking for little ways to elevate everyday experiences, and using @estellecoloredglass throughout my workday is such an easy way to add a little more color to my desk space.
