GET AWAY
Sometimes the simplest pleasures are the best.
We asked our designers how they spend an easy three-day weekend in their hometown or favorite place. What comes across most is the joy taken in simple things. Eating with friends and family, a lovely walk in nature, cooking, and errand running. Read on to see how our designers frame out a lovely weekend of recharge and fun.

I love a long weekend in VT, any season. I love the lakes, the lush greenery, and the stunning view while road biking up the mountains in the summer. In the winter, I love being under a blanket sitting by the fireplace, and sipping mulled wine!

My hometown, Harrison, is located in the western part of Hudson County. It's a transportation town with the PATH going directly to NYC. For the past 4 years, they've been developing and gentrifying this small industrial town. So now there is a trendy coffee shop, Coperaco, where I like to get my cappuccino. My friends and I like to go to meet up for dinner and drinks at The Vanguard. There's also a very large Portuguese and Brazilian community in the area, so we love to go to eat Portuguese food in the Ironbound area of Newark.

Fort Tilden Beach, a trip to Rockaway Taco or New Park Pizza, a day at Domino Park, and a nice night with friends eating pizza outside at Pan in Bushwick.

We love waking up and walking through the park to our local Starbucks in Tuckahoe. After that, a little reading on the couch looking out at the trees, and a little gardening. Our favorite nursery is Gedney Farms in White Plains. They have an incredible selection and Carla, who runs it, is so knowledgeable. We've learned so much from her in the past 2 years that we've lived here. On Sundays, we usually run errands at Ridge Hill Mall and do our grocery shopping at the local health food store in Hartsdale called Green Organic Market and I cook dinner for my wife and I.
